ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE AND HR SOURCING
Organizational culture is not a simple phenomenon and it is intangible. Each company show its unique characteristics most of the time divers in nature. This uniqueness of an organization can referred to as its culture. Fundamental HRM activities such as enrollment, selection, and training affect the performance and sustainability of an organization and also these assignments have the ability to influence employee behavior and create values that help to develop the organizational culture. Cultural values can be identified as a part of the external factors which influence HR exercises and it command employee behavior (Tutorials point.com, 2022).

Though organizational culture defines as intangible, formulating a category of values that might be helped to describe an organization’s culture will enable us to identify, measure, and manage culture more sensibly. In this context, various culture typologies have been proposed by several researchers. One of the most recognize model is the organizational culture profile (OCP), in which culture is represented by seven distinct values (Chatman & Jehn,1991).

Recruiting the suitable person for the right job is a result of finding the person who can work best in the company culture that has already been established since the organizational culture is an established way that an organization or work environment functions. finding a candidate who has experience working in a similar culture may be more important than finding one with experience in particular industry skill. Another benefit of finding a candidate who fits in with organizational culture is that if employees enjoy their co-workers and working environment, they are less likely to leave the company. Lower rates of turnover mean less time and money spent on recruiting, hiring, and training (simplicant.com,2022).
An organizational culture can also influence the recruitment and selection activities of an organization. This makes sense because good behavior is driven by ethical values. An organization can guide the conduct of its employees by embedding ethical values in its culture. Though skills and experience continue to be important, practice however pointed to motivational fit as a key differentiator in the selection process. It can be defining motivational fit in two distinct ways, i.e. job fit motivation and organization fit motivation (Adewale and Anthonia,2013). The main relationships between culture and recruiting are associated with employee attraction, selection and retention. From an attraction standpoint, culture is primarily about the brand image a company project. Companies that take culture seriously actively market their culture to candidates. This attracts people who will thrive in the organization and repels people who would be more effective working elsewhere. Another reason to recruit around culture is that while job demands and requirements constantly shift, a defining characteristic of culture is that it remains constant in the face of change. A person hired based partly on his fit with an organization's culture is more likely to continue on as a valuable company resource, even if the position he was originally hired for ceases to exist. In fact, an effective organizational culture actually helps people work together to adapt to business changes (Monster Worldwide,2022).

ReplyDeleteA good workplace culture attracts good candidates. Most people wouldn't apply for a job at a company that didn't share their values and many job seekers value culture more than salary. Employees are less likely to have job satisfaction and are more likely to look for a new role when not happy in their work environment.
